Forget life's pressures for a moment or longer...
Check Talia's blog 13 Dec 2006 for the 20 great reasons why you should be dancing and then come back here for regular updates on the reasons behind the reasons...
2nd of 20 reasons why dancing is great for your well-being. Here's the full list.
When I connect with a partner on the dance floor, we are simultaneously solely focussed on that connection between us and also acutely aware of other dancers that we must navigate around. Our bodies and minds seem to manage that paradox. If you have seen that marvellous film Take the Lead starring Antonio Banderas based on the life of Pierre Dulaine, you will remember the final scene where the young couple are the only ones on the dancefloor in a room full of dancers. There is no room left for the brain to think about life's pressures. Those pressures will surely return but in the meantime, dancing can let us forget them for a moment or longer....
If you haven't seen Take the Lead or Mad Hot Ballroom, you can get them on video now. Be inspired by this Youtube video featuring Pierre Dulaine, Antonio Banderas and some of the students who featured in Mad Hot Ballroom. If you want to meet Pierre Dulaine himself, join us in New York in September 2007 when we will be based at his studio on a Dance Tours holiday.

On with the dance! Let joy be unconfined.
